Ryan and I were thrilled to work on this project together to provide a home for his newly retired parents that would ultimately welcome them into their new chapter of life.
The goal was to move them to a home on a private property with a variety of space that is functional yet cozy. Thus, we designed a European courtyard-styled home that is reflective of their tranquil, wooded estate. This project is near and dear to our hearts; we are forever grateful for the opportunity to share the journey.
#MustangProject | European Dream Home
On a corner lot in the scenic community of Tuskawilla, every room of this 5,250-square-foot home faces toward the pool, taking in the forest of trees surrounding the property.
Inside, following my in-laws’ color preferences, we selected an interior palette of blues with natural wood tones, rattans and marble. We worked hand in hand with the architect from day one, using materials expected to age in place. Our goal was to design a home that is comfortable and enjoyable at all times of the day.
In the breakfast area, the kids absolutely love grandma and grandpa’s custom banquette installed behind the reclaimed timber trestle table. The cushions are suspended by a steel rod and fastened by leather straps. My in-laws’ favorite space is the kitchen because it has a little home office for bill paying and for documenting recipes. Plus, an oversized pantry with natural light. The pantry is equipped with a coffee bar and double ovens for behind-the-scenes hosting magic, all while natural light pours in through the windows.
After years of love and support from Ryan’s parents, it was a beautiful opportunity to be apart of designing their European dream home.
