It’s Before + After time! Renovations are so much fun because you can really see the transformation of the entire space. Project #GrandCanal was all about bringing in a modern feel to the once retro home built and designed in the ’70s…(hence the zebra print and abundance of red). From the very beginning, our clients completely put their trust in our team, which is every designer’s dream! We’ve had the pleasure of working with them before, so they were truly able to understand our vision and appreciate our style.
Fortunately for us, the house had good bones to begin with. And the fact that the property is on a deepwater canal that leads straight to the ocean, doesn’t hurt either. As soon as our clients saw the 130-foot dock in the backyard, they fell in love. That being said, our goal in this remodel was to maximize the killer views out to the canal, as well as express eclecticism by using a mixture of materials in each room. With a lot of love, we were able to make it all happen. Take a peek!

This mauve stepped ceiling detail may have been super fashionable in a previous decade, but it didn’t fit the timeless, contemporary look we were going for.
Adding in a shower was necessary here. We also said goodbye to the mirrored finish on the ceiling.

AFTER

Saddle leather bar stools and exposed wood beams really pop when placed in front of a white kitchen.
|| GREAT ROOM ||
The handwrought iron circlet stands and geometric design of the accent pillows really helped bring this room to life. Plus, who doesn’t love a metal + leather coffee table…heart eyes for days.
|| DINING + LIVING ||
You can see the synergy in this space- Robert Abbey’s modern take on a bamboo chandelier and mid-century modern dining chairs pair together in perfect harmony.
|| MASTER BED + BATH ||
Warmth enters the room with the addition of these walnut side tables. The mix of wood + metal complements the calm and cooling tones of this room flawlessly.
