The Heart of the Home
For many, the kitchen is the center of the entire home. It’s where friends and family often gather to make fond memories and traditions. In the mornings and evenings, delicious smells lead you back to the special place where some of the best moments are created—right here in the kitchen.
Here, we will take a look at the all special details of the kitchen in the #NorthernFrostreno.

The Details
The kitchen can be a place that’s both functional and beautiful at the same time. Mixing metals in the kitchen is a great way to build interest and a sense of antiquity.

We used a Lacanche range that showcases a blend of tradition, modernity, and exquisite French artistry. It’s made with brass and offers a timeless aesthetic to the kitchen.

The cabinets, painted Heron Plume by Sherwin Williams, feature solid bronze hardware that’s durable for the many hands in the kitchen. When it comes to durable finishes, quartzite counter tops are a great choice. It’s harder than marble and perfectly functional for the client’s lifestyle.
Getting Creative
To successfully make the client’s vision and desires for the space come alive, sometimes you have to get creative! The client was torn between open shelves verses closed cabinets. We were able to produce a happy solution and opted for glass cabinetry. While still enclosed, the client can display their most beloved tabletop pieces without all the dust! It’s the best of both worlds.

Now, let’s talk about the island… one of my favorite features about this island is the end grain walnut butcher block. No need to pull out the cutting board! The butcher block is easily accessible for convenient food prepping.
The spaciousness of the island and double counter stools make all the difference when it comes to seating for family gatherings, dinner with friends, and for the kiddos as well. How nice and convenient is it to have your kids on the same seat as you?

Having a sink adjacent to the range is another feature that makes the cooking experience all the more enjoyable. This sweet, little prep sink is a convenient work station with a cutting board insert. Wash and rinse all without having to occupy space at the main sink. It’s the simplest of details that makes a kitchen very special place.
Integrated Appliances
Subtle, not hidden accurately describes the integrated appliances of the kitchen in the #NorthernFrostreno. They’re there! But they’re just not very obvious.

This nook provided the perfect opportunity for us to have the quartzite counter top seamlessly flow into a backsplash. Fun fact: It may not look like it, but can you believe this wine cooler can hold a total of 59 bottles of wine?!

Alongside the refrigerator, the nook is complete with under-counter refrigerator drawers, plenty of storage, and an ice maker. It’s everything a host needs for birthday parties, holiday festivities, spontaneous gatherings, you name it!
The Dining Room
Not all dining rooms have to be formal or traditional. We went the non-traditional route and opted for an oversized, round table that seats 8 chairs comfortably. Round dining tables are great for small and large groups as everyone is able to feel included in the conversation. And somehow, there is always room to squeeze in one more chair. 🙂 That’s my kind of dining room!

Photographer, Alyssa Rosenheck, did a masterful job at capturing the essence of the kitchen in the #NorthernFrostreno. It’s all about the little details that make a space feel like home. Alyssa never misses a great detail shot!
I truly love the way the this special kitchen turned out. The paintings by artist, Holly Addi, are the perfect art pieces for the dining area. The entire space is warm, inviting, and full of space for gathering and memory-making. Just what a kitchen should be.
