The Lower Level | #NorthernFrostReno

Before and After

The Lower Level

The lower level in our #northernfrostreno project was transformed to be less of a basement and much more of a third floor. This space is a multi-functional area for entertaining or as a place to retreat to. The lower level had great bones to work with, so the possibilities were pretty much endless!

A Place for Gathering

Having a place for gathering is at the heart of our client’s lifestyle. We imagine this space will host dinner with friends, card games, or evening conversations.

The Wet Bar

With the shift of the stairs to accommodate the upstairs, we were able to create a perfect spot for a wet bar which enhanced the lower level’s function for entertaining. With the surrounding neutrals and soft tones, this felt like a great opportunity to make a bold statement.

The black granite farmhouse sink demands attention against the deep hue of Sherwin-Williams Rock Bottom shade. The movement of the counter-to-ceiling marble backsplash is also an unforgettable detail. All together, these elements create a striking moment of contrast and interest.

Once you’ve gotten a refreshment from the wet bar, settle into the custom upholstered Dolores Swivel Chairs. Here, you can participate in casual conversation or peacefully observe the surrounding activities that may be taking place.

By The Fireplace

Nothing says “coziness” like a warm fireplace! In this section, you’ll find find layers and layers of natural textures and natural materials. For the fireplace, we went with a modern, simplistic approach which was a far cry from the previously red brick.

In the end, we love the aesthetic of it and soothing appeal it brings to the space overall. On those chilly Nebraska evenings—grab a throw blanket, kindle the fireplace, and cozy up!

The Powder Room & Bathroom

The lower level powder room displays a white oak vanity topped with a contour vessel sink made of antique limestone. The stunning backdrop of the vanity features floor-to-ceiling hue stacked glass mosaic tile. After a complete transformation, the powder room now feels light and airy!

In the lower level guest bathroom, mini hexa tile in matte white is the star of the show. With a variety of tile patterns shown, there is a whimsical atmosphere to be enjoyed by its guests!

Functional & Comfortable

At BMID, we strive to create intentional and thoughtful interiors. Aesthetics that are functional and comfortable are a big deal to us and we want that to be experienced in every detail. We even installed a lower level laundry room to minimize going up and down the stairs to the main floor’s laundry room. “Thinking of everything” is part of our values!

The lower level stands on its own when it comes to entertaining small gatherings, family movie nights, or simply hanging out by the fireplace. For us, renovations are not just about updating a “look” but rather, refining the space entirely. From top to bottom, we wanted the lower level of the #northernfrostreno to become a much more enjoyable and interactive place.

xoxo,
